Ceremony Details

October 18, 2003 -- 3:30pm
James J. Hill Library
80 West Fourth Street
St. Paul, MN 55102
Our wedding ceremony will be held at the James J. Hill Library in St. Paul, Minnesota. We are having our wedding at the Library for many reasons. First of all we were looking for a non-denominational place for our ceremony as it was important to us to incorporate both of our faiths and cultures into the ceremony. So the ceremony needed to be in a place where we could celebrate both Melissa’s Christian background and Tamer’s Muslim background.
When Melissa found the Library she fell in love…not only because it is beautiful and the perfect place to join our lives and cultures but also because her paternal great-grandfather had worked for James J. Hill. Knowing that her great-grandfather would be incorporated into the wedding in this meaningful way was incredible.

We picked an October date for Melissa’s love of fall and fall colors. After the date was set we were reminded of all the other wedding anniversaries that fall in the month of October. Melissa’s parents and both of her sisters were married in October. Her paternal grand-parents and great-grandparents were also married in October. October seemed like the perfect month to join our lives, our love and our laughter.
