The “Live, Love, Laugh” Theme

We wanted a theme for our wedding that would show the unification of our lives and cultures. The idea for the theme came to Melissa when she remembered a cartouche her mom had given her years before. The cartouche is a necklace that says “Live, Love, Laugh” written in hieroglyphics. We couldn't think of a better theme for a day that celebrates our love and the beginning of our lives together.

Throughout our website and wedding invitations you’ll see that we've tried to incorporate our “Live, Love, Laugh” wedding theme. Finding a way to use both English and Arabic and carry an American and Egyptian theme throughout our wedding was very important to us. Using the cartouche was the perfect way to use hieroglyphics within our wedding.

On the front of the invitation is a reproduction of the cartouche. There is also watermarking on each insert. In the top right hand corner of each invitation insert, and on each web page, there is a word or hieroglyphic. On the “Live” inviation insert, the word “Live” appears in English and is written in Arabic and placed as a watermark behind the main wording on the insert. The same is done on both the “Love” and “Laugh” cards. You’ll see both the cartouche and these words, in English and Arabic, used throughout our wedding.
