How We Met
Melissa loves to tell people they met in a bar. Tamer likes that statement clarified so the situation doesn’t seem so cheap. But technically they did meet in a bar, Bennigan’s in Bloomington, Minnesota, not too far from Tamer’s house. Ironically neither one of them truly wanted to be out that night but luckily their friends dragged them out to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day.
If it weren’t for Jerry, Marcia, Marisa, Sally and Sonya their paths might have never crossed. They later discovered that their paths just missed each other all day long -- they had both been to the same Target and Jamba Juice, within minutes of each other.
At Bennigan's Jerry ran into Sally and their groups merged for the evening. After the bar closed they all went to Sally’s. Tamer and Melissa hung out for the rest of the evening, comparing stories and adventures. Tamer really fell for Melissa shortly after she learned he was from Egypt and she stupidly asked, “Do you speak Egyptian?” Melissa recovered from her stupidity and Tamer stuck around long enough to realize she wasn’t a complete idiot. ;-)
That night Melissa announced to Tamer that she was moving to Washington, D.C. It didn’t really seem to matter to either one of them... until August arrived and the long distance relationship began.
